TOUGHMAN WA Ocean Shores

TOUGHMAN WA Ocean Shores is the kind of place where you race and take the entire family to enjoy the beach, go carts, classic car festival and much, much more. Overall male and female winners Conner Brown and Karen Richards who finished in 4:25 and 5:23 respectively had to battle rain and wind but “toughed” it out to cross the finish line first!

Ocean Shores is approx 2 hrs south west of Seattle so this is a great location to escape to. The normal temps never get more than 70 degrees and the bike course is flat, fast and free of cars for most of it. One of the only Half iron triathlons in the pacific North West this gives athletes from BC, WA, OR and Id the opportunity to race in early July.

This is a qualifier for the TM National Championship in NY on Sept 18th where age groupers can compete for a cash purse of $4950 5 deep as well as over $30,000 worth of awards. The next 2 weekends will see athletes travel to TOUGHMAN UT in Provo and TOUGHMA MN in Chisago to qualify for the TM Nationals.

“We continue to grow in both popularity and the number of races because we represent grass roots triathlon but with a standardized format. Athletes that register for a TOUGHMAN race know that they will get a safe, great race experience at every TOUGHMAN venue. Having a brand that caters specifically to age groupers and families is good for the sport.”

Over 100 age group qualifiers will receive invitations for the TOUGHMAN Half Iron National Championship on Sept. 18thin New York where they will compete for a cash purse of $4950. Athletes in the open division will compete for over $30,000 worth of awards.
