Introducing the Triathlete Workshop

In a dream world we would be able to pick up the phone and call a World Champion athlete or a top coach to have them lend some expertise to our training. Just imagine how great it would to pick Jarrod Shoemaker's mind or bounce some ideas off Justin Trolle. What if I told you that this was no longer a dream, and in fact it has become a very accessible reality thanks to the wonderful people at TriathleteWorkshop.com.

Triathlete Workshop was designed by a team of top-tier coaches to revolutionize online triathlon training and coaching. They have created an online community that allows everyday athletes, just like you and me, to gain one-on-one access to top coaches and athletes. The coaching list includes: Justin Trolle, Tim Crowley, Melissa Mantak, Kurt Perham, and Shelly O'Brien. Athletes include: Jarrod Shoemaker, Lesley Patterson, and Alicia Kaye (bios below).

The extremely user friendly site is designed to be a one stop shop for your triathlon training. The major appeal of the community is to be able to schedule one-on-one hour long phone calls with one of the all-star coaching staff. Here you can address personal issues you are dealing with and receive immediate feedback from some of the most experienced individuals in the sport. While this communication is unmatched anywhere else on internet, the site is filled with additional features that make this a premier destination for triathlon training.

First, they offer multiple types of triathlon training plans; standardized, pre-built plans and more customizable module based plans. The pre-built plans are based on volume, training time, goals and experience. While the more customizable modules are sport specific, designed in four week intervals to address your individual strengths and weaknesses. All built by their all-star coaching lineup.

The site also features a library of training based articles and videos, to let you sift through at your own leisure. From the articles the site moves to a peer based forum where discussions are lead daily by coaches and athletes.

One unique feature is the daily live chats with one of the coaches or athletes. The coach or athlete will host the text or video chat on a specific topic or just a general discussion on training and racing. Every member will be able to be part of these talks and have their personal questions answered.

While all these features are phenomenal, you will quickly appreciate the main belief that the Triathlete Workshop is built upon. The acknowledgement that there is no one right way to train. In fact, they facilitate and encourage their coaches and athletes to debate each other on why they feel their methods are beneficial. They want their members to be able to take bits and pieces of all the knowledge and opportunities on their site, to form their own training ideas that best suit their individual needs. Much like the name insinuates, the Triathlete Workshop gives every athlete the tools to become their own expert, and without a doubt successful, athletes.

The site is set to launch this December, but click here to check out more information on becoming a member.
