The date March 3rd 2013 has been set for the 33rd annual Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon; this classic race is early next year due to America's Cup Sailing races. The registration lottery is open as of this Saturday, September 1st 2012.

If you want to bypass the lottery, qualify immediately, take a 'dry/wet' run at the entire race course and fine tune your race stagey than Escape Academy in conjunction with the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon may be for you.

The sole purpose of this full day clinic is to prepare the athlete for the 2013 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. Escape Academy athletes will receive training tips, seminars, sponsor samples and suggestions on all aspects of this great race from travel to training and everything in between. Athletes will complete all three legs of the world famous Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon course in a safe group workout setting. By completing the Escape Academy, athletes will qualify and are eligible to enter the 2013 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.

All participants will be responsible for the race entry fee in addition to the clinic fees.

Clinic Dates: Saturday September 22, 2012 and Saturday October 27, 2012

Schedule (subject to slight change):

- 7:00 a.m. Open water swim in SF Bay
- 10:00 a.m. 18-Mile Bike Course
- 1:00 p.m. 8-Mile Run Course including the Sand Ladder

Location: Escape Academy athletes will meet at the Sports Basement Presidio, 610 Old Mason Street, San Francisco, CA 94129

Fees: $480 paid in advance (includes various lectures from experienced coaching staff to accompany the three group workouts, charter boat to swim start, aid Station/on-course support, T-shirt, lunch, and special giveaways.

Coaching Staff: Eric Gilsenan (24-year veteran and staff coach of the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon), and Linda Buchanan (1983, 1986 World Champion Triathlete, 1986 Triathlete of the Year, Masters Swim Coach.)
