Israman Increases Prize Money for 2013

Race organizers of Israman Samsung, the tough long distance triathlon in Eilat, have announced a significant increase in the winners' prize money. The total prize money for both male and female was increase to 54,000 NIS ($13,500 USD) in order to encourage high performance competition in the Israman.

According to officials, the Israman reputation gained in recent years along with the demand for a race in January when most countries are in the winter peak, have dramatically increased the interest of foreign triathletes, including elite well known athletes. It seems that for the first time, since began in 1999, the race will reach its maximum capacity.

"Triathlete Magazine" has ranked the Israman amongst the top 10 best long distance triathlons in the world.
The bike course of the Israman is one of the toughest and challenging in the world, as competitors start with a long climb followed by rolling hills with strong winds in a beautiful desert landscape.

Israman Samsung 2013 will take place on January 25th in the wonderful resort city of Eilat. With a season average of 15°c and a challenging bike course, it is the ideal time to leave the freezing weather and bike trainers at home, and come to train and race the Israman.
