Bonk Breaker Almond Cherry Chunk packs a protein-powered punch

Energy bar maker Bonk Breaker unveiled their tenth flavor creation today, Almond Cherry Chunk. The fast-growing company has created a freshly baked bar that combines tart cherries, a hint of dark chocolate, and a raw almond butter base. Like all Bonk Breaker flavors, the new bar is gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free made using all-natural ingredients. The new flavor packs 15 grams of protein and is the company's second high protein bar, joining the popular Peanut Butter & Jelly High Protein.

Bonk Breaker founder Jason Winn said, "Our goal is to make sure that every Bonk Breaker combines incredible flavor with an outstanding nutritional balance. While we've become known for our high performance energy bars, we've also had an incredible number of requests for a second high protein bar that can be used as a recovery bar or even as a meal replacement."

"We now have ten great flavors in our lineup, and every new bar that we create has to be special and unique. Jason (Winn) and I sat down with the idea of creating our second high protein bar with a raw almond butter base, a premium ingredient that we knew would be a perfect starting point. As always, we relied on our 'research department' - our customers and Team Bonk Breaker athletes - to provide us with feedback. The resulting flavor and nutritional properties are amazing. The new bar is incredibly moist and the flavor is extraordinary," said Bonk Breaker co-owner Chris Frank.

In addition to being a good source of dietary fiber and vitamin C, cherries provide a wealth of antioxidant nutrients that possess anti-inflammatory properties. Raw almond butter contains several essential water soluble and fat soluble vitamins, protein and omega-3 fatty acids.

The official energy bar for all U.S. Ironman, Ironman 70.3 and 5150™ Triathlon Series events, Bonk Breaker sponsors professional and amateur athletes, teams and events throughout the sports spectrum.
